About Us
Who are we?
St Ann’s Montessori is a private coeducational Diocesan Catholic teacher’s training center, Owned by Nakuru and Eldoret Dioceses. It trains Montessori teachers / Directress who guide pre-school children of the ages 3-6 years . Our aim is to provide a whole balanced teacher who is physically, spiritually and intellectually developed ,so that they may pass their love, care and skills to bring up a well integrated child in our modern world.
St Ann’s draws its uniqueness from the educational philosophy of Dr Maria Montessori who was an educationist. That is how it gained its famous name Montessori method which is named after her.
What is Montessori?
Dr Montessori gave the world the legacy of a method of education which combines a philosophy of freedom and self development for children with a practical approach.
Her children’s houses as she termed them, provided a safe carefully planned and structured environment in which children learn.
The Association Montessori International aims to build on this legacy. We believe that all children want to learn and can absorb knowledge without efforts if they are given access to Montessori activities appropriate for their development by teachers who are trained to observe carefully and respond to their individual needs. The philosophy underpinning our work is one of respect and care for children.

As a directress/director this is because their primary function is not to teach but rather to direct the natural developmental energies in children.
ST Ann’s Hostel
St Ann’s Hostel is owned and managed by Catholic Diocese of Nakuru. It accommodates ladies only.
There is a total of 21 standard rooms. Each room has two double deck beds.

St Ann’s Montessori has a well equipped practical room that gives our student the ability of the mind to form new and original ideas that have their basis on reality. “Children develop their imaginative and creative powers through hands-on experience” we at St Ann’s Montessori we have been helping students to acquire their unique insight into child education for more than 15 years.
